So everyone has heard of March Madness but all of us at Exact Staff would like to suggest a new twist on this month – MARCH KINDNESS!  We wanted to use March to remind our staff that every day we can strive to be kinder and improve the lives of others and we decided March was the perfect month to do these recognitions. “March Kindness” is simple – if an internal Exact Staff employee overhears or visually confirms an act of kindness performed by a colleague then he/she will email our CEO “catching” our colleague in the act of kindness that they witnessed and in return that employee earns a points towards prizes.  Pretty simple and to the point right? Now other than being a contest, at its roots the program will help everyone in the company realize just how much of an impact an Exact Staff employee makes on anyone that walks through our doors on any given day. It’s such an honor and brings each of us such a sense of joy at the end of a work day realizing what we as recruiters at Exact Staff accomplish for our city, our state and our America. We help qualified, intelligent, and caring people throughout the U.S. find careers that they enjoy. Who would have guessed? Enjoying work? Yes! It’s possible! Sometimes all these great stories go untold as there is so much that goes on daily in our lives. But with our March Kindness campaign we hope to re-introduce this concept of “kindness” and give rebirth to the idea that it’s possible to help someone every day and in any way. We all strive for greatness in our daily lives, so why not recognize the individuals that help us accomplish goals. It’s really heartwarming to receive letters/emails of thank you and calls of happiness from associates who we helped find that perfect career. Please join us in recognizing and celebrating kindness in the month of March!

For Thanksgiving 2013, Exact Staff and WPO sponsored a group of 20 families with children of all ages to package meals for Children of the Nations. This non-profit group provides wholesome meals for families in countries ravaged by starvation, as well as orphans who have no other way to get food. After several fun hours of camaraderie and fun working as teams, we packaged 10,000 MEALS!!!!! Such a great way to be thankful and to share the blessings we have with others less fortunate than ourselves. If you are interested in learning more about Children of the Nations, please go to their website at https://cotni.org/

Using Twitter for Your Temporary Employment Search

Social media is everywhere, and virtually every company is using it. Take advantage of leading social media platforms when it comes to your job search, especially Twitter. When they think of professional social media, most job seekers think of LinkedIn, but Twitter can be an extremely useful tool when it comes to finding a job. Our expert team of consultants here at Exact Staff have prepared some quick tips for using Twitter for your job search.

Tip 1 – Use Twitter as a way to brand yourself. When it comes to your Twitter handle and profile, make sure you are personal yet always professional. It is important to let your personality shine, but remember, anything you post publically can be found by potential employers.

Tip 2 – Upload a professional photo. Stay away from the generic egg photo but don’t go with a picture from last weekend’s party either. Choose a photo that makes you look professional and, most importantly, hirable.

Tip 3 – Network! Find people in the industry you respect and look up to and follow them. Even tweet at them when you feel you have something of value to add to the conversation.

Tip 4 – Create meaningful content. Don’t just Retweet what others are saying, tweet what you’re thinking and join the conversation.

Tip 5 – Follow various companies. Many companies have job-related Twitter handles, so find those handles and follow. It’s an easier and more effective way to keep up with job postings, instead of constantly checking their website.

Tip 6 – Be YOU. You still want to show a slice of your personality, so don’t be afraid to tweet what you are passionate about.

Tip 7 – Don’t solely use Twitter to promote yourself. Be interested in what others are doing and engage with them. Share an interesting article you saw from a company in which you’d like to work or favorite a tweet about an industry you’re interested in.

Tip 8 – Use hashtags. Hashtags are crucial when it comes to getting your content found. It’s an easy way for recruiters to search similar tweets, and includes you in ongoing Twitter conversations.

Since social media is constantly growing and expanding, there will always be ways to utilize Twitter in your job search. Contact one of our team members today for more tips on using Twitter and job searching in general.
